Primary

Between the ages of 6 and 10, students enter a phase of consolidation of basic learning. At the Lycée Français International, the primary stage combines academic demand, cultural openness and attention to individual development. This is an essential period for acquiring solid tools that will accompany students throughout their school journey.

Objectives

In this phase, learning becomes more systematic, but it is still active and stimulating. The objective is not only to transmit knowledge, but also to form curious, reflective and autonomous minds.

Teachers accompany each child in the development of fundamental competencies:

  • Mastering language skills to articulate complex arguments, comprehend advanced texts, and express ideas clearly.
  • Thinking logically and critically, especially in mathematics and science.
  • Work as a team, cooperate, respect speaking time and different points of view.
  • Assume responsibilities, both individual and collective within the classroom.

The human dimension is at the center of the educational project. Respect, empathy and openness to other cultures are cultivated from an early age.

Organization of the day

The daily rhythm is carefully structured to alternate concentration, movement, exchange and rest. The morning is usually dedicated to core subjects, while the afternoon allows us to open up to other areas of knowledge.

Throughout the week, students participate in a variety of activities:

  • Reading, writing and speaking sessions.
  • Calculation, logic and problem solving exercises.
  • Discovering the world through science, history, and geography.
  • Art, music, physical education workshops and interdisciplinary projects.
  • English and Spanish: Structured integration within the French curriculum.

Transitions between activities, outdoor recreation and times of collective reflection complete the day and reinforce students' emotional balance.
