Diplomas and Higher studies

The diplomas obtained at the Lycée Français International de Panama reflect a solid, demanding and internationally recognized academic background. From DNB in 9th grade to Baccalauréat in 12th grade, these degrees open doors to prestigious universities around the world.

DNB Diploma (in 9th grade)

The Diplôme National du Brevet (DNB) validates the knowledge and competencies acquired at the end of the college cycle, generally around the age of 14 or 15.

This diploma is based on:

  • Continuous evaluation throughout the school year.
  • Final written and oral tests in different disciplines.

The DNB does not condition the passage to the Lycée, but it constitutes the first official certification of the academic journey, reinforcing the student's confidence and sense of responsibility.

Baccalaureate Diploma (12th grade)

The Baccalauréat It is the diploma that completes secondary education and allows direct access to higher education. Internationally recognized, it represents a guarantee of academic excellence.

Since the reform of the French system, the new Baccalaureate combines:

  • A common core of compulsory subjects.
  • Specialty subjects chosen by the student in Première and Terminale.
  • Ongoing evaluation, together with final written and oral exams in both classes.

The students who are part of the American International Section They can present the Baccalaureate with International Option (OIB). Specific evaluations are added to the General Baccalaureate exams:

  • History and geography in English.
  • American Language, Literature, and Civilization (LVA).

These tests are developed jointly by the French educational authorities and the College Board of the United States. The final diploma bears the official mention “American international option”, recognized internationally for its rigor and level of demand.

Higher studies

The Baccalauréat is more than a diploma: it is a true academic passport. It allows access to prestigious public and private universities in France, Europe, North America, Asia and Latin America.

Graduates of the International French Lyceum of Panama have the personalized support of the guidance team to apply to:

  • Universities in France (including Grandes Écoles and programs in English).
  • Recognized institutions in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Switzerland or Spain.
  • Trilingual international programs or programs with a global focus.

In addition, there are different funding opportunities to continue studies:

  • AEFE Excellence Scholarships, aimed at non-French students graduating from French high schools.
  • Scholarships from the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to study at university in France.
  • State scholarships for students of French nationality, depending on specific conditions.
